Hello there, time for a quick update,

Meadowcroft Media came into existence over October 2015. However, it wasn’t a public launch and purposely went under the radar. It was more a launch in the sense of me making the leap from a freelance copywriter and journalist to a publisher that wants to concentrate on local, specialist websites.

So, at the moment, I’m still doing freelance writing work while I take care of some back-end matters (registering the company etc). Meadowcroft Media will have an official launch – expected in February 2016 – when our first local community site is ready to go.

And that’s all I’m willing to say at the moment. I’m terribly excited about it, though, and think it’ll fill a gap that I think’s widening when it comes to local journalism, especially local journalism on the Wirral.

I hate being cryptic about it, but all will be revealed next month. I feel now is the right time to show traditional publishers how to embrace the possibilities the internet has to offer. The plan is to not only provide the best local and specialist content around but to also offer advertisers new, creative (and transparent) ways to reach out to an audience and grow their business.

Balancing this in the right way and having strict rules between editorial and commercial will be essential for our success. I think we can do it, though, and we hope you’ll stick with us and read the content we produce.
